About me.........

11 years ago we adopted a 9 month old rescued crossbreed dog called Toby (that's him in the picture). We knew nothing of his past but we were told he must not be left alone although he would be ok with our other dog. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the space of a few weeks Toby chewed up all my shoes and worked his way down the stair carpet. The other dog who had never chewed helped him!! He also went into a panic one day and knocked the TV off the cabinet and our doors took a beating as well. Every time we went out and left him at home something else got damaged. All very expensive and avoidable.

We decided that Toby must be traumatised and bored and lonely so we gave him more love and affection and lots of toys to occupy him. Nothing helped until with the advice of our Vet we got a crate. All this did was contain him and although he loved the security of his crate it did not address the real problem and it was 6 years before we could leave him in the house without the crate and even then only after we started using  PURE Dog Listening.

I decided to do the foundation course in 2004 because the 3 dogs we had at the time were so badly behaved that we could not even get their leads on to walk them and when we did we would be dragged up the road with the lurcher barking aggressively at every dog she saw.

I was sceptical at first as most people are. How can something so simple work with all the problems that some dogs display?........what can I say except that it does. Because you are using the dog's own language it is so natural for them to respond in a positive way. My dogs are living proof. We now have 6 dogs, five of them are rescued and two of them would have been put to sleep due to their so-called "aggression" if we had not taken them in. Lily showed her teeth every time we looked at her and Lola had breached the dangerous dogs act according to two rescue centres because she had bitten her previous owner's daughter. When Lola arrived she barked constantly and ate anything and everything. Lily is now well on her way to being a happy balanced dog and only shows her teeth when under pressure. Lola is a delight to all who meet her and is happy just to be with us. She has shown no aggression and loves everyone - even the cats - and the barking has stopped.   All our dogs are calmer and happier and we are calmer and more confident. Being the pack leader can help you as well as the dog. Don't get me wrong, it is not a quick fix, sometimes you get immediate results and often it takes longer but it does work as long as you are consistent.

Sadly most people contact us as a last resort and by then the problems have reached a critical stage. Often owners are thinking of getting rid of the dog or having it put down. Some people spend a small fortune on leads, harnesses, toys, sprays and even shock collars (which are now illegal in Wales) in an attempt to control the dog's behaviour.  I can show you the easy and kind way to live with your dog in harmony. By using this method your dog will elect you leader and relax allowing you to make all the decisions. The consultation will take as long as is needed for you to be comfortable and happy with everything I teach you and I will be available afterwards to support you and answer any questions for the life of your dog. So you won't be struggling to cope on your own any more.

If you are having problems or if you just want a better relationship with your dog call me now. You will be under no obligation whatsoever and I am always happy to talk dog!!!
